David Shebby has been named a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. The peer-based recognition is given to those who have practiced Family Law for at least seven years with a demonstrated record of excellence, integrity, and substantial involvement in educating others to “elevate the standards and advance the cause of matrimonial law." A founding partner of Shebby Hirashima LLP in West Los Angeles, Mr. Shebby is an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School, where he teaches marital property.

Fellows are chosen by the AAML’s National Board of Examiners, based on a range of criteria, including:

• The attorney is recognized by the bench and bar in their jurisdiction as one who practices with honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
• The attorney has substantial experience handling complex matters relating to custody and support of children, property division, and alimony or spousal support.
• The attorney has a demonstrated record of substantial involvement in the matrimonial field to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the cause of matrimonial law.

Founded in 1962, the American Academy of Matrimonial and Family Lawyers (AAML) is a national non-profit organization consisting of elite Family Law attorneys in all 50 states as well as Washington, D.C. Mr. Shebby joins only 1,700 other attorneys around the country who are recognized as Fellows by the AAML, including fewer than 200 practicing/active Fellows in California.
